This trip to Florida will allow us to get to know one of the most well-known, attractive and tourist states in the United States. Located in the southeastern part of the country, this state is formed, for the most part, by a peninsula that separates the Atlantic Ocean (to the east) from the Gulf of Mexico (to the south and west), giving rise to very long coastal strips in the that paradisiacal beaches abound. But not only that, since if the Florida Peninsula can boast of anything, it is having exuberant nature, excellently represented in the Everglades National Park and unique cities, such as Miami, Tampa, St. Augustine, St. Petersburg or Orlando, among many others, where you can see and live the dreamed American life .
And if that were not enough, this state is home to the Orlando amusement parks and the Kennedy Space Center, places that, for both adults and children, represent a traveler’s dream.
In our case we have planned this trip to Florida with the idea of getting to know many of its essentials, making a route that includes a mix of culture, cities, history, attractions, nature and of course, relaxation and beach, which we hope to enjoy at the end. of the trip, spending a few days in the Florida Keys.
The trip will last 3 weeks, including round-trip flights, and in addition to visiting most of the tourist attractions, we will spend a full week at Walt Disney World Orlando and Universal Orlando, visiting practically all the amusement parks.
The time chosen for this trip has been the month of December since we believe it is a perfect month to enjoy all the attractions with a stable climate and, above all, live a moment as magical as Christmas in the parks of Orlando. In addition to this, it is important to know that the Florida Peninsula has a temperate and sunny climate throughout the year, so much so that it is known as the “Sunshine State” for its 300 days of sunshine on average. Despite this, it is important to know that the peninsula is divided into two zones: the northeast of the state, which has a subtropical climate, and the rest, which has a tropical-humid climate.
This means that we can generalize by saying that in Florida, the rainy season is concentrated between May and September, although during these months, the sun continues to shine and the temperatures remain high and the humidity index is also higher.
Likewise, special attention must be paid to hurricanes and tropical storms, which usually occur between the months of August and October, especially between June and October-November, something important to take into account to determine the best time to take a trip to Florida .
If we put all this data on the table, we can say that, although it is advisable to take a trip to Florida at any time of the year, it is best to travel between the months of December to May , since during those months the temperatures are stable, with an average of 25-27 degrees of maximum and 16-20 of minimum and the rains are less frequent.
Another important thing, which we have taken into account, is how to get around Florida. In this case, we have decided to rent a car that will allow us to move around with complete freedom of schedule and movement.
Although there is also the possibility of moving by public transport, it was very important for us not to be dependent on third parties when moving, although in this case, it is important to prepare the route in advance to see the kilometers to be traveled, since in the state of Florida, as in the entire United States , the distances between points of interest can be very long.
In addition to the day-by-day guide that you will find below, in which you can find all the information to make this trip through articles on each of the tourist attractions, we also recommend that you read the post about preparing for the trip to Florida in 21 days, to have all the details of the organization of our route.
