1. South Beach, the best place to sleep in Miami
South Beach in a neighborhood of Miami Beach and the area where most travelers stay . Although it is usually more expensive than the rest of the city’s locations, staying in this area ensures that you are in the thick of it and, above all, are perfectly connected to all the tourist spots in Miami. Despite being very well connected to the rest of the city and South Beach, our favorite area, and even having the Metromover , which is a free elevated subway, at night the area tends to become quite deserted so it is not our favorite for go out to dinner.
In case this is not an impediment for you, the Bayside Marketplace is located here, from where the cruises to famous houses depart, the Miami Heat stadium as well as some museums.

Here there is no shortage of luxury shops, art galleries, street art and countless restaurants, cafes and shops in which design and architecture play a very important role.

5. Little Havanna, one of the cheapest areas to stay in Miami
In the late 1960s, thousands of Cubans settled in this area of Miami, making it the lively and vibrant place it is today. Getting lost along the famous Calle Ocho is already one of the essentials of Miami and tasting the delicious Cuban cuisine in one of its restaurants, another of the things that you cannot miss in the city. All this makes Little Havanna one of those places that all travelers want to visit and more than one value as an option to stay in Miami.
And this is where we want to highlight something: Little Havana has relatively little accommodation, many of them apartments or rooms managed by individuals, which although they are cheaper, have a problem : the neighborhood during the day is safe but at night, it is not. It’s everything you would like.
That is why, always from our experience and perspective, we believe that this area, despite being one of the cheapest in Miami, is not for everyone and in general terms, the ideal would be to avoid it.

Despite this, do not think that there is nothing to do in the neighborhood, since it has a lot of shopping and nightlife options, in addition to being a safe area, making it a perfect alternative to stay in Miami, especially if If you like trendy businesses: it is the perfect place to enjoy a drink on any of its terraces with unique views of the city.

Although there are many travelers who value the airport as a location to sleep in Miami , thanks to its relatively reasonable prices, due to its distance from the city, more or less 50 minutes by public transport, it is not an alternative that we would value. Maybe you arrived on a late flight or the next one leaves very early.
In these cases, the ideal is to opt for the area closest to the airport and always look for accommodations that include transfer to the airport.

Our recommended accommodation where to stay in Miami
During our stay in the city during the trip to Florida we stayed at Henrosa Hotel in South Beach less than 2 minutes from Ocean’s Drive, a location that seems perfect for visiting the city.
We found the quality-price ratio to be perfect and in addition, the hotel has a parking service for $35 per night, something that, if like us you have traveled through Florida by car, is a plus so you don’t have to worry about anything.
The only drawback is that the price includes breakfast but it is served in a hotel on Ocean’s Drive. Despite that, it is less than 200 meters away and will allow you to enjoy the atmosphere of this area of the city early in the day. So we don’t think the option is that bad…
Taking all this into account, we believe that South Beach is the best area to stay in Miami .
After our experience we believe that this area, along with Mid Beach and Downtown, are the best areas to stay in Miami if we take into account the quality-price ratio of the hotels and the location.

Tips for finding cheap accommodation in Miami
- One of the first important things is to be clear that it is difficult to find cheap hotels in Miami since the average is $150-$200 in a relatively central and well-connected location. Despite that, there are always some recommendations that if you follow them, you will surely be able to save a few good euros.
- Try to book as far in advance as possible, especially if you are traveling during high season or on a weekend.
- Although accommodations in locations like South Beach or Mid Beach may seem more expensive than other locations, don’t rule them out initially. It is important to assess the proximity to tourist attractions and places you want to visit since sometimes to save money, you stay very far from the center and what you save, you end up investing in transportation or in time lost in transfers.
- Parking in Miami is very expensive so if you have a car and want to save, check the prices carefully.
- Remember that to avoid paying commissions and always have the current exchange rate, we recommend using the Revolut card and the N26 card . They are the ones we use, they are free and will mean great savings for you.
